Information for clients

Your Rights and Responsibilities as a Tax Client

Your tax practitioner is required to keep you informed about your rights, responsibilities, and important information from the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).

The TPB maintains a public register to help you make informed decisions when choosing a tax practitioner. The register allows you to check whether a tax agent or BAS agent is registered and includes information about serious sanctions or higher-risk cases.

For more information, visit: TPB Register Information

If you ever have a complaint about our tax agent services that we are unable to resolve directly with you, you can lodge a complaint with the TPB using their online complaints process.

More information is available here: TPB Complaints Process

You also have obligations as a taxpayer, including providing accurate information, keeping required records, and meeting ATO deadlines. In return, tax practitioners must act honestly, lawfully, professionally, and in your best interests.

Further information about your obligations and the responsibilities of registered tax practitioners can be found on the Tax Practitioners Board website.
